Fire on the Horizon
Due to the Yosemite fires, the smoke rests low in front of the sun creating a unique orange glow and beautiful light rays through the trees. The fire was started from a lightning strike in mid August. With no chance of damaging structures, the fire will most likely burn until first snow fall. Controlled burns like this, that are monitored by the Park Rangers, are good for the environment creating new growth in the spring and preventing parasites like the pine beetle from taking over.
